Warney eligible to sue

The young man in his twenties was using the crosswalk yesterday afternoon, was hit by a moving car while crossing the street. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with minor injuries but should be okay and discharged within two or three days from the hospital. The driver of the vehicle did receive a citation for not yielding to the pedestrian. The police report said the pedestrian did have headphones on and was not aware of the light changing because of the music. The law states that the person had to yield to the person driving the vehicle. The state is trying to pass a law to prevent this from happening in the future. The pedestrian that was hit said that he will sue for damages that have accrued because of this event. The police say that he is at fault for wearing the headphones but they could not charge him with anything. The laws should be changed to prevent the stupidity of an individual from suing for their own mistakes. The driver will have to pay a higher price for insurance because of this event. The other factor is that silly law suits drive up the price for everyone. Another example would be a person walking down the street talking on a cell phone. The person tripped and fell and as a result they broke their leg. The city or the property could be in trouble for that person’s stupidity. The gadgets we use in our lives today, to make things easier are also causing problems with our consideration. The world is made easier with the new technology but that opens up a new set of laws to protect the innocent from getting hurt. The companies that make the devices could also be responsible in the future and drive prices up. The fact that someone is stupid they should not be rewarded.
